I'd been looking at materials used by some contemporary sculptors and the idea of using cardboard really appealed to me. It's cheap, throwaway and familiar. Through out my BA I had been interested in minimalism, lines and geometry and once I spend time on working with ideas and materials I usually get an emergence of lines, repetition and squares. This work came from working in the studio over a period of a few weeks. The involvement of the mirror was create a tension between the intimacy needed to engage with the piece and for the unfolding realisation of what the work actually consists of.
