Phew, the school holidays are over! Kids are back at school and I can get on with my practice. I've really enjoyed spending time with the kids and we've had a brill time over the summer but I'm really glad that I've now got some time and space (and a quiet house) to do some work.
I did go up to Armley Mill a few weeks ago to have a more detailed look at the archives and to see if some of the things I want to do are plausible. Some things worked and some things didn't but I'm going to set up a seperate blog this week for the residency and I'll post the link on here when it's up and running.
Nina, the keeper from Armley Mill, emailed me last week to ask about dates. The residency runs between October and December and they're being quite flexible about the dates. So it seemes that I'm charge of saying when things are happening, which is a nice feeling. The opening will be at the end of November, so I've got about 2 months to sort out the show. I'm also doing a artist talk and some family animation workshops in December dates tbc.
One of the other residencies will be done by Simon Whetham a sound artist, who'll be working at the mill for a year recording all the artists working.
